INCH COLTS .... 1
BERWICK secured their second cup final win in successive weekends, to go along with promotion they achieved previously.
Berwick kicked off in warm conditions but it was Inch Colts who started the brighter and tested Adam Mutch a couple of times in the opening minutes. Berwick then came into the game and slowly got on top and Adam Smith and Craig Grieve both went close to breaking the deadlock but both teams went into the break at 0-0.
Berwick kicked off the second half and took the game to Inch and went close taking the lead only for Inch to make the breakthrough against the run of play. Inch almost made it two minutes later and at this stage they were on top, but Berwick shuffled their pack and made two changes.
Berwick again got on top and eventually got their rewards when with about 15 minutes to go Adam Smith pounced on a mistake by the Inch defence and rolled the ball into an empty net.
This gave the initiative to Berwick and despite some heavy challenges from the Inch defence, they had wave after wave of attacks.
The winning goal came from a quick counter attack when Berwick broke up the left side and when the ball was rolled into the box, Michael Allan finished high past the Inch keeper to spark wild scenes of celebration in the Berwick camp. Berwick played the last five minutes out to take a well deserved cup victory.
