Lowick Beats the Parish Bounds on bank holiday
LOWICK'S sixth Beating of the Parish Bounds organised by St John the Baptist Church takes place on Bank Holiday Monday, May 26.
Now firmly established as an annual event, this family day out has proved to be a firm favourite with both local residents and visitors to the area.
What could be better than spending a fun filled day walking or cycling through some of the county's most beautiful countryside?
Walkers have the choice of a three mile or 12 mile route, whilst an eight mile route is on offer for cyclists.Those undertaking the longer walk should ensure they are wearing suitable footwear; bring a waterproof and packed lunch. Two refreshment stops are provided along the way serving hot drinks and homemade cakes and scones.
Meet at the Black Bull car park at 10.15am for a breakfast roll and hot drink. Entry costs £5 for adults, £2 for children and £10 for a family ticket which includes breakfast and an information pack.
All proceeds from the day will go to church funds.
